TravelI came very close to choosing the tourism industry as my profession before entering university. Once a dreamer of traveling for work, now a (academic) conference traveler. With COVID-19, many traveling dreams have vanished, yet we see new opportunities to connect via virtual means. See this link for a blog post I wrote about showing up more fully in virtual conferences.

TaikoI fell in love with taiko (Japanese drumming) when I lived in Japan for a short while for a research internship. I was an active member of Genki Spark, a Boston-based, multi-generational group of Asian/Asian American women using taiko to build communities and to advocate respect for all. Having moved away from Boston in 2018, I stopped being involved as a member. I continue to contribute to understanding and addressing of issues related equity and inclusion in other walks of my life.

CookCooking is a passion shared by my partner and I. We love to try recipes from different cuisine in our tiny home kitchen and indulge in cooking shows on Netflix. We recommend these shows on Netflix if you are a foodie like us: Ugly Delicious, SALT FAT ACID HEAT, Flavorful Origins (last update: 2020 Oct).
